Environmental legislation is a key driver of change in today’s shipping industry, presenting both challenges and opportunities.Hot on the heels of the emission control area (ECA) regulations that came into force on 1 January this year, on 1 July 2015, the EU’s monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) system came online.
