How is the sectoral rate calculated?

The sector's growth factor is calculated by the following formula:



Example of calculation of sector's growth factor for the year 2031:

Let's assume the average total emissions covered by CORSIA between 2019 and 2020 is 560 million tonnes of CO2. Further, let's assume the total emissions covered by CORSIA in 2031 is 800 million tonnes of CO2. (These numbers are only educated guesses).









The sector's growth factor for 2031 would be in this example 30 per cent.
