BREAKING NEWS: The directive including aviation activities in the EU’s emissions trading scheme is valid (ECJ)

The Court of Justice of the European Union (ECJ) has confirmed the validity of the directive which includes aviation activities in the EU ETS. The judges do not consider the directive a breach of public international law, so emissions trading in aviation will start as planned on 1 January 2012.Judgment in Case C-366/10.
