Verifavia Shipping at Posidonia

13/06/2016

Verifavia, the world’s leading emissions verification company for the transport sector, participated in the prestigious Posidonia International Shipping Exhibition held in Athens, Greece from 6 to 10 June, 2016. A landmark event in the maritime calendar, this year’s event was bigger and better – with over 1,800 exhibitors from 90 countries and over 22,000 delegates from around the globe in attendance.

EU MRV Masterclasses at Posidonia

Verifavia Shipping hosted free-to-attend masterclasses at their exhibitor booth during Posidonia. The main focus of the masterclasses was to inform and support those seeking to better understand the European Union’s (EU) Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) regulation. Experts from Verifavia sought to demystify this widely misunderstood legislation, and to offer shipowners and operators guidance on how they can ensure operational compliance.

In total, Verifavia Shipping conducted seven EU MRV Masterclasses at Posidonia, with at least 50 shipowners, IT service providers, and other shipping companies attending.

Julien Dufour, CEO, Verifavia Shipping ,and Nikolas Theodorou, Managing Director, Verifavia Shipping (Hellas) Ltd were interviewed by several media publications, including Hellenic Shipping News, Safety4Sea, and Marine Professional. The focus of the interviews was EU MRV Regulation, and how Verifavia can work in partnership with shipowners and operators to achieve compliance.
