European Commission published the list of aircraft operators with verified 2013 and 2014 emissions

01/04/2015

The European Commission published today the list of aircraft operators in the EU ETS and their verified 2013 and 2014 emissions.

However, in many countries, it is the responsibility of the national registry administrator to propose and verify the emissions in the Union registry after it has received the information from the Competent Authority. This is the case in Spain, Portugal, Belgium, France, Poland, etc. Unfortunately this takes time and there is no way that operators that submit their verified report on the deadline day (or even up to a couple of days before the deadline) can have their data recorded in the Union registry ontime for the publication of the list.

This results in many operators showing up as non-compliant in the list although they are actually fully compliant. Also many other operators are shown as non-compliant but actually did propose their emissions in the Union registry on 1 April because they didn't have time to do on 31 March (although there is no excuse in this case).

Important note: the list only includes aircraft operators that have opened an account in the Union Registry.
