ICAO changed the CORSIA baseline to 2019

On 30th June 2020, the ICAO Council agreed to amend the CORSIA baseline and remove the use of 2020 data so that only emissions data from 2019 is used in the Pilot Phase.

CORSIA is due to be reviewed every three years, starting from 2022. This first review will consider whether to extend the 2019 baseline beyond the Pilot Phase.

However, MRV requirements are not amended and operators are still required to monitor, report and verify their 2020 Emissions Report for submission to their State Authorities by 31st May 2021. [...]

The UK Emissions Trading Scheme (UK ETS) will start in 2021!

In the aftermath of Brexit, the UK government has announced its intention to  create and implement a UK ETS that will cover domestic UK flights as well as flights between the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA). Carbon Emissions Units update from ICAO's TAB

Airlines need to buy emission reduction offsets to compensate for any increase in their emissions from their baseline (2019-2020). To streamline this process, ICAO has created Technical Advisory Body (TAB) at the beginning of 2019 to discuss and provide recommendations to the council on the eligible emissions units for use by the CORSIA.[...]
