Aviation MBM / MRV Support
Verifavia provides onsite support for short or extended periods of time in the form of project management, expert guidance and technical assistance for the design and implementation of global, regional and national MBMs and MRV systems to governments, aviation regulatory authorities and airlines.
Verifavia's Aviation MBM / MRV experts are available to participate in the design and implementation of an Aviation MRV system as part of the work towards a global MBM.
Thanks to its previous experience in MBM / MRV training and capacity building with Civil Aviation Authorities and EU ETS training and verification of many airlines worldwide, Verifavia has developed customized global (ICAO), regional and national MBM / MRV support services addressed to governments, aviation regulatory authorities and airlines.
Governments and Civil Aviation Authorities (CAAs) should consider the details of existing ICAO MBM / MRV proposals and existing MBM / MRV such as EU ETS and Shanghai ETS during the design and implementation of any national, regional or national MBM MRV for aviation CO2 emissions.
Design and Implementation support services
We offer detailed MBM / MRV training and capacity building as a first step in the process, before the MBM / MRV system design and implementation support.
Next, we recommend CAAs can develop a detailed MRV system for the current ICAO Forms reporting to identify the set of procedures for monitoring, reporting and verifying the fuel consumption and traffic data the airlines send to the CAA before it is sent to ICAO.
The result is a set of monitoring and reporting procedures that guide the airlines while the internal and external verification procedures guide both the airlines and CAA. This 'quick win' provides the necessary 'hands on' experience that can be applied during the design and implementation of a global, regional or national MBM / MRV for CO2 emissions.
