GREENHOUSE GAS AUDITOR

ACI EUROPE launched the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program in 2009 to acknowledge airports' efforts to control and decrease greenhouse gasses (GHGs). Airports seeking recognition must have their carbon footprints, emission reductions, carbon neutrality declarations, sustainability targets, action plans and collaboration with various stakeholders independently validated by ACA approved verification entities to ensure the programme's quality.

Additionally, as the relationship between GHGs and climate change becomes more widely recognised, more organisations are measuring their GHG emissions for internal management / reporting purposes, and a growing number wish to have their carbon footprints verified by independent specialised bodies to build confidence in the reported data.

Within the ACA framework, Verifavia is the world’s leading verifier having verified over 300 carbon footprints of over 100 airports across all ACI regions since 2014. Our clients include some of the biggest names including Groupe ADP, Singapore Changi, Doha Hamad International, VINCI Airports and many others.

Verifavia has also been actively involved in carbon footprint and GHG verifications based on the principles of the GHG Protocol and the ISO 14064. We have been an active player in verifying airlines and other entities and over the years Verifavia has conducted carbon footprint audits for major entities including the Qatar Airways group, Finnair, LATAM group, TUI Group, EasyJet group, Bolt, and many others.

In the framework of expanding its services, Verifavia is looking to hire a GHG / ACA auditor. The role will focus on liaising directly with various clients and consultants to audit the monitoring and reporting procedures for GHG data, interview responsible persons, document findings in an internal report and ultimately reach a verification opinion towards the data reported. The role requires the auditor to thoroughly understand the nature of GHG reporting, airport operations, various installations and emission sources associated with a given entity, follow the methodology the client applies to compute its carbon footprint, and ensure that they are in line to achieve their future sustainability targets. The GHG Protocol and the ACA guidelines are the main reference sources for this role. The auditor will also be involved in the commercial and marketing activities related to ACA and GHG reporting.

Specific skills (mandatory):
  • Knowledge of carbon footprint preparation, GHG Protocol, ISO 14064 & 14065 and ADEME reporting principles
  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to interpret data

  • Professional proficiency in English and French
Additional skills (preferred):
