GHG Verification (ports)

Verifavia provides independent carbon emissions verification for ports according to the ISO 14064 standard and the GHG Protocol.

Overview

Whether voluntary or mandatory, independent verification brings several benefits to a port's carbon inventory:

  • It increases the accuracy and reliability of the reported data
  • It adds credibility of the reported data for internal and external stakeholders
  • It enhances the level of confidence in the sustainability information

Independent Carbon Emissions Verification

Verifavia can independently verify a port's carbon emissions data according to the 14064-3 standard and the GHG Protocol.

The ISO 14064-3 standard specifies principles and requirements and provides guidance for verifiers conducting or managing the verification of GHG assertions. It can be applied to organizational or GHG project quantification, including GHG quantification, monitoring and reporting carried out in accordance with ISO 14064-1 or ISO 14064-2.

The ISO 14064-3 also specifies the requirements for selecting GHG verifiers, establishing the level of assurance, objectives, criteria and scope, determining the verification approach, assessing GHG data, information, information systems and controls, evaluating GHG assertions and preparing verification statements.

Together with the ISO 14064-3, Verifavia uses the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard (GHG Protocol), which is the most widely used GHG accounting tool for organisations.

Most of our team members have followed and successfully passed an External Lead Verifier Training course, a GHG Emission Verifier Training course (ISO14064), a GHG Protocol and / or a Bilan Carbone © training course, and have considerable experience is auditing carbon emissions and carbon footprint reports.

We strive to work as efficiently as possible while maintaining the highest degree of data accuracy and the highest level of customer service!
